Amir kabir dam (Karaj) is located 25 km north of Karaj road to Chalus city on Karaj river. This dam is first mulitipurpose dam of Iran and is one of Tehran drinking water source.

Karaj dam is double arch concrete dam with 180m height , 30m width in foundation, 9m width crest.

Renovation of some instruments was from Huggenberger Co.  and installed by Munir Co. and commissioned.
